Summer has finally arrived and we are dying to travel again and explore the world. There is a certain charm to travelling during summer. The sun is always shining, the day is long, and you can enjoy sitting on a terrace sipping on a cocktail while you look at what to visit first.

City breaks are short vacations, usually over the weekend, where you get out of your everyday life and explore a new country. The trouble with city breaks is that it can always be tough to know what to pack. You don’t want to carry too many things with you as it’s only for a couple of days, but you also don’t want to leave your favourite outfit at home.

Comfy shoes

Summer can be the toughest season on our feet. Long hours spent walking on cobbled feet can lead to blisters when wearing inadequate shoes. You want your feet to breathe while you walk, but you also want to look nice on your trip.

Trainers or canvas style shoes are comfy shoes, and you should be able to walk in them for hours. They are also easy to style for almost all types of wardrobes. White canvas shoes work well with jeans and T-shirts or with skirts.

Sandals are the best option for your feet, especially on a hot summer day. Sandals work well with jeans, dresses, and skirts, and it’s easy to mix and match. The only downside of wearing sandals in a crowded area is that somebody can step on your toes and do some damage.

Clothes

Now, this is the hardest part. What to wear on a trip to Paris, Barcelona, or whatever European city you choose for your getaway? You can sort your clothes based on a colour pallet and add some accessories. Summer colours include yellow, lime, and light purple. Choose one that makes you feel good and confident.

For a three-day city break, you don’t need to pack many clothes. As a rule of thumb, it’s best to bring two bottoms, three T-shirts, a dress, and a light jacket. It’s good to have options, but not to overcrowd your baggage with unnecessary clothes. Maxi dresses are better than skirts because you do not need to think about the top part, and they look cute.

Gadgets

Sometimes it’s hard to leave the house without your gadgets. Since you are only going away for a few days, you should be picky with the things you bring with you. If you are into photography, having your camera with you is essential. If you are an artist, pack a sketchbook, your paints, and if digital art is your passion, consider upgrading to a new laptop, as laptops for artists have different specs to budget laptops.

After a long day of exploring, you might want to sit in your hotel bed and relax. Watching television in a foreign country can be difficult if you do not speak the language. Take a laptop and a kindle for all your entertainment needs.

Wherever you choose to escape for the weekend, try to always live in the moment and have a good time. Traveling is an exhilarating experience that can enrich your mind and your senses.
