Whilst shopping in London last week, we felt a little peckish and decided to visit a little French patisserie shop in South Kensington called La Pâtisserie des Rêves – literally meaning “the patisserie of dreams” – and what a dream it was! Decked out in pink and white like a tempting sweetie shop for adults, La Pâtisserie des Rêves offers a delicious array of beautifully crafted fresh patisseries, viennoiseries, and cakes. A perfect place to stop in the middle of an epic shopping spree!
Described as “the patisserie of the 21st Century”, La Pâtisserie des Rêves is much acclaimed in its beautiful founding city of Paris, France, reinventing classic French pastries, including the Paris Brest which we decided to sample. It’s a delicious choux pastry with praline flavouring, and all but melts in the mouth. A perfect naughty but light treat!
Founded by pioneering pastry chef Philippe Conticini and visionary hotelier Thierry Teyssier, La Pâtisserie des Rêves has a daydream feel, the childhood nostalgia that becomes harder to find nowadays, the pink and white minimalist decor a simple yet effective design.
The cakes and patisseries at La Pâtisserie des Rêves are stunning to look at – we almost didn’t want to eat them! Displayed in a bell jar carousel, the atmosphere at this beautiful South Kensington patisserie is out of this world with its beautiful service, packaging and, of course, patisseries. We felt like little girls in a sweet shop, picking out what to have for our decadent lunch, and we’ll definitely be visiting again.
La Pâtisserie des Rêves is located in South Kensington at 13 Exhibition Road, London, SW7 2HE.
They also offer a delivery service in and around the London area.
Sounds lovely!
