Leeu Estates in Franschhoek, South Africa, is going to be all an out exclusive five-star boutique hotel with 17 luxuriously decorated rooms and suites. It opens it doors tomorrow! This is exciting!
I was fortunate enough to have a little peek of this stunning place when I stayed in Franschhoek at its sister property Leeu House in February this year, when I was reviewing their next door famed The ‘Tasting Room’ Restaurant at Le Quartier Francais hotel, (which was mind-blowing!).
Leeu Estates is located just out of the town within 68 hectares of vineyards, landscaped gardens and fynbos (South African indigenous vegetation).
Located between the mountainside and river, it’s a wonderful place to holiday. The added bonus is you are amongst a working wine farm Mullineux and Leeu family wines. What could be better?
Actually it does get better! Delicious, innovative cuisine will be prepared by Leeu Estates’ culinary team, headed by resident executive chef Oliver Cattermole. Lunch and dinner menus will showcase the finest locally sourced organic and ethically farmed produce in creative fusion dishes with vibrant world flavours. Yum!
Leisurely meals and fine South African vintages from their very own cellar will be served in The Dining Room or al fresco on the garden terrace. (Outside visitors are welcome, but pre-booking is required).
Franschhoek is seriously the destination to go if you are a foodie and love your vino. The streets are lined with beautiful restaurants and cafes. There are beautiful vineyards to visit and each restaurant takes advantage of choosing the best South African wines from their own valley.
Another attraction will be the Leeu Spa, a wellness sanctuary offering expert massages and holistic treatments inspired by centuries-old Asian traditions. There’s also going to be a gym, equipped with the latest generation fitness machines, offers framed views of the majestic mountains.
